Happy Easter!

I'm finally blogging again! It's been soooo long!
I'll post a few things here all at once. First will be Easter!

Abby with her loot!

The eggs were hid in the front yard this year. To keep kids from just peeling out the front door, and seeing all the eggs before they got down the hill, Natalie decided to blind fold them and congo line them out to the front door. :)

Wait for it!

Abby's first catch of the day.

On the prowl.

Egg hunting is serious business! This is how Abby sneaks up on 'em!

So proud!

Luke likes to get the "hard" eggs! Look at that climber! Thank mom for spotting him so he doesn't fall! :)

One egg rolls away and that becomes the "it" thing to do! Watch 'em roll away! Yipee!

Easter Egg Hunts...such a great spectator sport! Right Boys!

What a gyp! There is nothing in this basket!

The end of the Big Hunt!

That Reminds Me...

You know when you're doing something and a smell or thought triggers your memories. I love that. It's happens a lot lately.

I was turning on a DVD for Abby one day and lo and behold there was a preview for Blue's Clues. It had the "new" guy, I hate the "new" guy...THAT REMINDS ME...when the "old" guy, Steve, left blues clues.

We were all gathered for Debbie's wedding at a hotel in Bountiful, UT. Heather was VERY pregnant with, I think, Renae at the time. Blue's Clues came up while we were all hanging out in one of the rooms. Heather got all sorts of emotional, tears and all, over Steve's departure. It was hilarious! It was just pregnancy funny. Every time I see blue's clues I chuckle. :)

Sometimes a recipe calls for buttermilk. I don't use it very often ,but every time I buy buttermilk...THAT REMINDS ME...of when we used to go to the farm in Phoenix.

Whenever we went to Grandma and Grandpa Cameron's she would have something baking. Once Grandma was making a cake and I was sitting up at that little short bar watching her. She was measuring buttermilk and I asked if I could have some. She thought I might not like it, but I insisted I would, as any young child does. She got me a glass and poured me some Buttermilk. I didn't like it!

****

THAT REMINDS ME...of several things...I was in CAL Ranch up here in Logan. It's a farm implement store. Every time I smell that place it reminds me of the seed room just off the kitchen on the farm. The smell is very unique and is a mix of seed, feed, and oiled farm equipment. I LOVE IT!

****

When I make a pitcher of Tropical Punch Cool Aid...THAT REMINDS ME...of eating diner around the table in Grandma's kitchen. She had those little Sesame Street Tumblers with the face of one of the characters on it (Burt, Earnie, Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch. We always had that flavor of Cool aid. (Isn't it funny what we remember as kids)

****
And here is the kicker. HAM...the smell of baking ham, especially at Easter...THAT REMINDS ME...of Grandma and Grandpa Cameron's house the most. It is a very nostalgic smell that sends me right back to their house. I LOVE IT!
****
Okay one more on visits to Grandma and Grandpa Cameron's. Jammie time. After Abby has taken a bath....THAT REMINDS ME...of bath time at the Farm. We would take our baths and then get our Jammies on. It reminds me of the days when we wore the ones with the top and bottoms that buttoned in the middle. So when I'm wrestling with Abby it reminds me of bath times at G&G house!

This one is odd I know. Some times my nails actually grow. My pinky nail seems to grow the longest. When it grows really long and pretty...THAT REMINDS ME...of moms nails. When I was younger I was amazed that nails could grow that long and pretty. So every once and a while I get long pretty nails like mom. Saddly it's not that often. :(

****

Staufers Chocolates...THAT REMINDS ME...of Easter when Grandma and Grandpa Crandall would come to visit from Kearny. One Easter they brought us each a sampler box of chocolates. She handed me mine and gave me a big "BUSTY" hug. Grandma was well endowed and she gave big bear hugs. So forever more little yellow boxes of chocolates remind me of BIG hugs from Grandma! :)

****

Making the bed....THAT REMINDS ME...of when we G&G Crandall would come to town and spend the night. Grandpa would wake up in the morning and pay us a BUCK! if we would make his bed. You know it was more to give us a buck, than cause he was lazy! ;)

I could go on all day...THAT REMINDS ME...I should get back to work! ;)

IT's FINISHED!!!

I've been dragging this rocking horse around FOREVER! One of the runners was broken and I knew I could fix it....6 years later!

Abby didn't trust my skills at putting it back together so she did it herself. ;)

Yep...tighten all the screws!

Ready to ride!!!

Abby likes to climb into things. This is obviously tons of fun sitting in a hamper in the middle of the hall with a toy. Let me climb in with you!

Abby got a car city from Grandma for her Birthday! So much fun. She's not spoiled or anything!
